Dom Gervasi is the owner and producer of Made in Brooklyn Tours. The son of immigrants, he grew up in the primarily Italian-American neighborhood of Bensonhurst. Prior to starting Made in Brooklyn Tours, Dom worked in the hi-tech industry for many years.
Over two years ago, Dom made a conscious decision to do something dramatically different by championing a cause near to his heart. He wanted to combine his sales and business development experience working for technology producers with his intimate knowledge of Brooklyn as a native. Made in Brooklyn Tours was formed in February, 2011 and has since expanded with tours of five distinct neighborhoods. Each is a production featuring businesses, artisans and organizations "makin' it in Brooklyn". The stars of the show make works of glass, metal and wood; they make wine, chocolate, ravioli and more.
Dom's mission is to promote the Made in Brooklyn brand by creating synergies between "who's makin' it in Brooklyn" and the general public. Google "Made in Brooklyn" and Made in Brooklyn Tours tops the list. Dom has been featured on TV, in newspapers and on numerous blogs online. He is a member of the Brooklyn Historical Society and other local history organizations. The tours are widely praised and the business was honored with the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
